from Salisbury Center, NY, USA
I got a letter from the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries, headed "Dear Queen of the Bakers Dozen A parcel sent to you has been detained because it does not meet the requirements of the Biosecurity Act 1993."
It was Julie Sadler's collages, which use bark, pine cones and twigs.
With the choice of having it returned to Julie, destroyed, or fumigated. I chose fumigation of course.
For the physical exhibition in New Plymouth I pinned the letter from the Ministry up until the actual collages arrived. Distressing for Julie, but it makes a good story, yes?
And now they've arrived!!!!!

|Third International Bakers Dozen Collage Exchange|
Each artist made 13 collages.
The one work from each artist which is shown in this Internet exhibition, was also exhibited in New Plymouth, New Zealand, and was then sent to the Museo de Collage in Mexico.
A package of 12 mixed collages was sent back to each participating artist.
