Dale works in assemblage and collage, the juxtaposition of disparate images and found objects, usually making an observation of the bleaker side of the human condition.
‘The philosophy of the found.’

Her work can be seen on her website www.dalecopeland.co.nz

Dale regards herself as the most fortunate person in the universe. Rich in everything but cash.
Mathematician, artist, martial artist. (Last year she gained her 5th Dan black belt in Taekwon-Do)

Do what you can, while you can.

china ducks, old barometer face, bird skeleton, cockatiel eggs
26 X 38 X 7 cm, Dale Copeland, 2015, $880
It's the arrogance of certainty that gets me.
This is the way that it is. Why? Because I say so.
Here the pompous duck in high stiff collar tells the eggs about the lovely life after death. High in the sky, without stormy weather, bliss.
The bird skeleton sees it like in the Tui ads. 'Yeah, right'.
